It was sometime in the 80’s, on a cold Canadian winter evening...
We were sat in a nice little restaurant where they were making an amazing oven pizza (to this day, one of the best I have ever eaten)...
We were chatting, eating our pizzas, soft drinks for us and a nice glass of red wine for my mom. There was some heat coming from the oven – I can remember being a little bit hypnotized by the fire roaring inside it. The ambiance in the restaurant was relaxed, we were all in a light and jolly mood, laughing and enjoying the meal.
That’s when it happened.
Out of the blue, my mom, putting her thumb and index together to form an “o” said to us:
“That is a perfect moment. Don’t you think? Nice company, nice wine, good meal...”
We were a bit taken by surprise by that phrase.
But quickly, we understood, as there was no real need to explain more than that.
It was something to be noticed, experienced. That’s all.
As for that moment, all our problems seemed far away;
as for that moment, life was good;
as for that moment, we were enjoying the present moment.
Because they come and go, even if you feel you are going through a hard time, you very well might be able to notice “a perfect moment” passing by. Look out!
